[A NOT SO STILL LIFE] - Nymphs

Description

Two for $35, discounted in the cart.

In collaboration with New York based Art Director Lee Pozin, we’re introducing our first vinyl slipmat — a tapestry for your turntable.

Why not add some [NOT-SO-STILL-LIFE] to an otherwise mechanical object?

As a counterpoint to the existing graphic-heavy or overly branded products that define the market, we offer a classical contrast to your industrial hardware.

For our first execution, we chose to re-contextualize two paintings by artists that thematically explored music, dance, and the poetry inherent in the movement of the human body…

Edgar Degas, Two Dancers on Stage (1874).

Antonio Zucchi, Three Dancing Nymphs and A Reclining Cupid in a Landscape (1767).

Beyond these perfect names, we found that these two static artworks exude a dynamic feeling we had to see in motion — what better place than a record player, a kind of moving canvas?

*Plus, they’ll remind you to remove your records and store them properly after use.
